Provider Relations Coordinator

Trumbull, CT

Provider Relations Coordinators (PRC) are responsible for the day-to-day distribution of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) to third party transportation providers. PRC work in support of the goals of Coordinated Transportation Solutions (CTS) organization and establishes positive and effective working relationships with NEMT providers, CTS internal departments, and other related agencies to establish superior partnerships between CTS and the NEMT Provider Network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Make and receive calls to/from NEMT providers for all CTS contracts.
  2. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the NEMT Provider Network
  3. Obtain and review all necessary information to appropriately secure & dispatch trips to NEMT within requested timeframes for pre- scheduled transports with third party NEMT providers.
  4. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Coordinate & dispatch NEMT with the most cost-effective third-party NEMT providers.
  2. Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work well under deadline driven environments.
  3. Responsible for identifying, researching & resolving any issues with third-party NEMT providers such as billing, system, general questions they may have, etc. Expect the unexpected
  4. Complete all documentation of process associated with mileage reimbursement when applying additional cost to transports once approval has been received & ensure accuracy & consistency.
  5. Respond to all inquiries (written, telephonic, electronic) in a timely manner and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals inside and outside the organization.
  6. Ensure all NEMT provider complaints/incidents events are handled timely & directed to the appropriate leaders expeditiously.
  7. Ability to work under high-pressure situations and make quick decisions when necessary. Remain professional while in a high stress environment.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Education and/or Experience:                                                                 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience.

Language Skills: (in English)                                                      

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:                                                    

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Organizational Skill: Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and be detail orientated

Reasoning Ability:                                                        

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Confidentiality: Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Computer Skills:                                                            

Must be skilled in the use of computers and be proficient in the intermediate knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. (Dispatching software a plus)
